The research of GOTSolar has been featured in Euronews. The short film shows the work on the preparation of perovskite solar cells. The topic is presented by the GOTSolar executors from EPFL Lausanne, University of Porto, and GreatcellSolar.

ABXPV Perovskite Thin Film Photovoltaics 2018: Programme and Invitation

The conference will be held 27-28 February 2018 in Rennes, France. The symposium is organised under the auspices of GOTSolar — a Horizon 2020 FET-Open project of the European Union.

“Solar energy [r]evolution in the light of climate change” – a workshop for high school students

As part of GOTSolar educational activities a workshop entitled ‘Solar energy [r]evolution in the light of climate change’ was organised. It took place in December 2017 at the laboratory in IChF PAN, and was targeted at high school students and holders of scholarships of the Polish National Children's Fund, by which the workshop was co-inspired. The aim of the classes was to enable participants to build a simple, self-made perovskite solar cell. During the whole week of workshop, young scientists were introduced into the world of photovoltaics during short theoretical introduction, during which they learnt about the history of solar photovoltaics and the characteristics of 3rd generation systems based on the perovskite materials. Afterwards, they participated in the practical part that included synthesis of materials that make up the individual layers of the solar cell and their characterization using various analytical methods. The participants were also introduced to the GOTSolar project itself and the European Union objectives towards science and technology including the Horizon 2020 FET-Open funding scheme.

2nd General Assembly Meeting in Ulm

The General Assembly of the GOTSolar project met in Ulm, 27 November 2017, accompanied by other consortium members for the meeting summing up the second year of work in the project. The main aim was to discuss the results and achievements, and state the directions and plans for the next year. The meeting was hosted by the University of Ulm.

The meeting consisted on the discussion of the general developed work within all Work Packages, from the beginning of the project, to update all partners and to allow an overall evaluation of the project. Technical and management actions for the future were also defined. Special attention was paid to the upcoming deliverables.

Technological Innovation Award for Professor Adélio Mendes

Professor Adélio Mendes, the coordinator of the GOTSolar project, has been awarded the Technological Innovation Award for his input in the areas of gas separation and renewable energies, as well as for creating connections between academic research and business.

The prizes were awarded 4 October 2017 at the Innovation Gala at the University of Porto 2017 as an initiative of the U.Porto Inovação and the Alumni Cabinet. This Innovation initiative has been created with the objective of recognition of the best contributions to the rising level of knowledge and creating a networking environment that fosters the creation of synergies between the University and the business world. It serves for distinguishing members of the academic community that stood out in the areas of Social Innovation, Artistic Innovation and Technological Innovation.

Perovskite Solar Cells Symposium at the E-MRS Fall Meeting 2017: Summary and Pictures

18-21 September 2017, the GOTSolar consortium organised a symposium devoted to recent progrees in perovskite solar cells. The chairpersons of the symposium were GOTSolar leaders: Janusz Lewiński (IChF PAN), Adélio Mendes (U. Porto) and Emmanuelle Deleporte (CNRS), and the local organising committee consisted of IChF PAN students. The event was hosted at Warsaw University of Technology. The PSC symposium was organised within the framework of the European Materials Research Society's Fall Meeting gathering 1000+ scientists in materials science in 20+ symposia of different topics.

GOTSolar featured in Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) Newsletter

Our results attracted the attention of the European Community officials, which resulted in an article in EC's Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) Newsletter artcle.

The project is already achieving exciting results, as for instance, polymer-coated cells that maintained 95% of their initial performance at 85°C for 500 hours under full solar illumination and maximum power point tracking. Also, in low-temperature laser-assisted sealing, a process for sealing conductive glasses at temperatures of 120ºC has been fully optimized to a size of 100 cm2; its hermeticity and long-term stability have been successfully tested against MIL-STD-883 and IEC-64646 standards respectively.

We announce the schedule of the Perovskite Solar Cells Symposium organised a part of the E-MRS Fall Meeting in Warsaw, Poland this September.

JPH 2017, 9-10 May 2017: an event supported by GOTSolar

The French partners from CNRS-Rennes have organised the third French Workshop on Hybrid Perovskites, JPH2017, 9-10th May 2017 at the MOLTECH laboratory of the University of Angers.

The event has been supported by the GOTSolar project in terms of scientific impact and programme. Two out of three plenary lectures were also given by GOTSolar consortium members. This event was a great opportunity to disseminate the work performed whithin GOTSolar.

JPH2017 gathered more than 100 participants from various fields and was the occasion for sharing the ideas behind GOTSolar with the rapidly growing French perovskite community.
